BSF set eyes on agro industries

The Business Support Fund (BSF) has expressed its keen desire to give priority to agro-based industries and invited the Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) to submit its proposal for providing support finance for technological upgradation to SMEs.
Saquib Mohyuddin the newly appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of BSF in a personal message to Zulfikar Thaver President Unisame requested a list of SME industries involved in value addition in agro-based items and a meeting has been arranged on 18th February 2010 to examine the areas of support to determine the scope of up-gradation in rice, wheat, maize, pulses, peanuts, vegetables, fruits, flowers, seeds, spices and herbs. Union is also going to emphasize the need to promote the tea and saffron plantations for widening the scope of innovation in cultivation.
